Julian Gough

Julian Gough sang with underground literary pop band Toasted Heretic. They released four albums, and had a top ten hit with the single ‘Galway and Los Angeles’, a song about not kissing Sinead O’Connor. He is the author of the novels, Juno & Juliet, Jude in Ireland and Jude in London. He won the largest prize in the world for a single short story (the BBC National Short Story Award) in 2007, and was shortlisted for the Everyman Bollinger Wodehouse Prize in 2008 and 2012. His poetry collection, Free Sex Chocolate, was published in 2010 and a year later he wrote the ending to Time magazine’s computer game of the year, Minecraft.
His series of children’s books featuring Rabbit and Bear are illustrated by Jim Field and have been published in over 30 languages. They have been shortlisted for both the Sainsbury’s and Irish Book of the Year awards. His most recent novel, Connect, is published by Picador and Nan Talese.
