Alex Dahl
Half-Norwegian and half-American, Alex Dahl grew up in Oslo and is a native speaker of both Norwegian and English. She is the author of six psychological thrillers published by, amongst others, Penguin Random House USA, Head of Zeus UK, Harper Collins Australia. Her books have been translated into sixteen languages, and her debut novel, The Boy at the Door, was shortlisted for a CWA Dagger Award.
Her third novel, Playdate, was adapted for the screen as The Stolen Girl, starring Ambika Mod, Holliday Grainger, Jim Sturgess and Denise Gough and was a #1 show for Disney+ worldwide. Alex’s first novel, The Boy at the Door, is also under option, with Alex executive producer on both projects.
Her latest novel, Girl Friends, set in London and Ibiza, was published in 2024.
Alex loves to travel and has lived in Norway, Spain, France, the UK, Switzerland and Germany. She is a huge francophile, and her hobbies include road trips with her family, especially in France, the carnivore lifestyle, and (French) interior design. She currently spends her time between Sandefjord, Norway and Margate.
