Ryan O'Connor

Ryan O’Connor was born in Falkirk, a town in the east of Scotland.  He wrote his first novel, The Speed of Falling, when he was nineteen years old.  Twenty-seven years later, he was Highly Commended in The Bridport Prize.  That same year he received the Scottish Book Trust Next Chapter Award, resulting in him being mentored by John Burnside RIP.  Soon after, he completed a first draft of his second novel, The Voids, which was published by Scribe UK in 2022, and later shortlisted for Scottish Book of the Year. He lives in Glasgow with his partner and two children.
