Dawn Heels

Dawn Heels is a widely recognised advocate and speaker raising awareness of uterine fibroids. After successfully overcoming 16 fibroids through open myomectomy in 2022, she launched My Fibroid Journey, a powerful series that provides a platform for women to share their stories and foster a global community of support and education.

As the founder of the not-for-profit organisation The Guidance Suite, Dawn empowers women through online and in-person support groups, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to take control of their womb health. She has addressed Parliament on menstrual health and racial disparities, spoken at Cambridge University, and hosted the UK leg of The White Dress Project’s We Can Wear White Tour. She is currently working alongside the RCOG with medical professionals and policy makers to develop a policy that will transform fibroid care in the UK.

Dawn’s advocacy has been featured in major outlets such as BBC Radio 5 Live, Sky News, The Guardian, and The Mirror. Her work has earned her numerous awards, including Top Female Health Advocate 2023, Global Patient Advocate 2024, and The White Dress Project’s Blossom Award. In September 2025, her portrait was added to the National Portrait Gallery’s Hall of Fame as part of Artists First: Contemporary Perspectives on Portraiture.

Through initiatives like My Fibroid Journey and The Guidance Suite, Dawn continues to drive awareness and amplify the voices of women globally, solidifying her position as a trailblazer in women’s health advocacy.
