Charles Maclean is the author of four suspense novels, which received outstanding critical acclaim and a couple of award-winning works of non-fiction. A Knight of Mark Twain (elected) and the 16th Captain and Keeper of Dunconnel in the Isles of the Sea (hereditary), he was born in 1946 and is married with four children. He lives on the West Coast of Scotland, where he manages a small Highland estate. A founder member of the The Ecologist magazine, he helped launch with Edward Goldsmith ‘Blueprint for Survival’ – the manifesto for what was to grow into the Green movement in the UK. He writes for various travel publications and is Honorary Consul for Montenegro in Scotland. For ten years he lived in New York City and Central Florida.
