Bonnie Lander Johnson

Bonnie Lander Johnson teaches English at the University of Cambridge, where she is a fellow of Downing College. She published her first nonfiction trade book, Vanishing Landscapes, with Hodder Press in spring 2025, to much acclaim, including from Eleanor Catton ('Rich and replenishing … I felt lovesick for it after it was done’) and Jennifer Potter in the TLS ('this is a fascinating, original study'). Her short fiction has been shortlisted for the RSL/V.S. Pritchett Short-Story Prize 2022 and the Brick Lane Bookshop Short Story Prize 2023. She is also Cambridge University's coordinator of their involvement in the BBC National Short Story Prize. Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, she came to England as a PhD student and stayed. She lives in Cambridge with her husband and three children. Trinity is her debut novel.
