Amelia Furlong is a writer and photographer living in Lisbon, Portugal. Originally from Washington State, she worked in abortion advocacy in California before moving to Ireland in 2019, where she received her MA in Writing from the University of Galway. Her poetry and fiction have appeared in Club Chicxulub, The Bold Italic, ROPES 2020, Strukturriss, The Racket, and others, and in 2022, her story “My Boyfriend, The Alien” was longlisted for the Cúirt New Writing Prize. She attended the 2016 Tin House Summer Workshop in Nonfiction and, in 2026, was a writer-in-residence at the Shakespeare & Company Tumbleweed Programme. Along with her literary work, she also writes romance novels under the name Emilia Briar Pope.
