Michael Holding

Michael Holding is a legend of cricket and broadcasting. He was a member of the West Indies team that is regarded as one of the greatest ever sporting teams. He earned the nickname Whispering Death for his quiet approach to the crease before unleashing hell. He spent more than thirty years behind the mic (the majority with Sky Sports), is the closest thing cricket has to a moral authority, and is regarded as one of the finest broadcasters ever.

In Why We Kneel, How We Rise (Simon & Schuster, 2021) – his book about racism and the eradication of Black history – he pulled together a host of international Black sporting heroes such as Usain Bolt, Naomi Osaka, Michael Johnson and Thierry Henry to help change minds and amplify his messages of re-education and inspiration. This book won the prestigious William Hill Sports Book of the Year award.
