Charlotte Mitchell

Charlotte was born and raised in Gosforth, Newcastle. While studying Theology at university, she took a part-time job in a local butcher’s shop. After graduation, she moved to London where she worked with several prestigious butchers including O’Shea’s of Knightsbridge and Lidgate’s, Holland Park. There she cultivated her passion for butchery combined with exceptional customer service, all while documenting her experiences on social media, establishing her digital persona ‘@girlbutcher’.

When the opportunity arose to buy a small butcher’s shop in Gosforth, she made the move back home to set up on her own. Established in 2013, Charlotte’s Butchery has grown from a one-person business to a thriving, busy team of staff, serving local customers daily as well as supplying restaurants and clients around the country.

Charlotte has written for several newspapers and magazines including i Magazine and has made multiple television and media appearances throughout her career. She is writing her first book.
